Fifth census in FC Barcelona history

They also happened in 1989/90, 2001/02, 2003/04 and 2012/13

The membership census conducted by FC Barcelona between March 2023 and April 2024 is the fifth in the club's history, following those of the 1989/90, 2001/02, 2003/04, and 2012/13 seasons. The Barça community's social data has been regularly updated over the last 34 years. The first census took place between 1 July 1989 and 30 June 1990, with a campaign aimed at regularising irregular situations affecting the ownership of membership cards and season tickets. Approximately 3,500 members took advantage of the special conditions set for name changes.

In the 2001/02 season census, a total of 6,580 members were able to change the name on their membership card and season ticket free of charge. The 2003/04 update was carried out as membership cards were being issued with the photo of the holder printed on them. As a result, 102,882 members completed the process, while around 5,000 were still in the final stages at the end of the season. Additionally, personal addresses were updated, and 21,000 email addresses were incorporated.

The most recent update of the census began on 22 October 2012. Different channels were made available for members living outside of Barcelona to update their data. Marquees were set up on matchdays, and a home census was conducted for members over the age of 75 or those with disabilities.
