The painter, sculptor, and ceramicist Miquel Barceló is the artist behind the official poster that will accompany the celebrations of FC Barcelona’s 125th anniversary, which will be happening during the 2024/25 season. Born in Felanitx, Mallorca, Barceló is one of the most internationally renowned artists, with iconic works such as the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament in the Cathedral of Mallorca, the ceiling of the Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, and the dome of the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona. Je thus follows in the footsteps of other globally recognized artists tasked with creating commemorative posters for the club’s anniversaries, including Josep Sagrelles (25th anniversary), Sebastián Rey Padilla (50th), fellow Mallorcan Joan Miró (75th), and Antoni Tàpies, who created the image for the centenary in 1999.

The official presentation of Barceló's work will take place on October 15 at 7pm CEST during a live broadcast La Llotja del 125, the new Barça One video podcast. The show, hosted by Andreu Juanola and Sara Loscos, will feature president Joan Laporta and the 125th Anniversary Commissioner, David Carabén, as well as Barceló himself. During this live event at the Auditori 1899, with an audience made up of club members, the first details of the agenda of events to celebrate the anniversary in the coming months will also be announced.
