Bathco Torrelavega 26-41 Barça: Comfortable win

Following disappointment at the Clubs World Cup, the domestic season continues to be a victorious march // PHOTO: Luis Palomeque

After getting beaten twice at the Clubs World Cup, Barça returned to domestic duty in their usual dominant fashion. Torrelavega were the hapless victims this time, an the win was just the tonic as the Palau Blaugrana rears up for another European date on Thursday.

Wearing the green third kit, Barça scored the first four goals to mark out their intentions for the afternoon. Javi Rodríguez and Thiagus Petrus were especially impressive, as was the home keeper Leo Tercariol, whose interventions were keeping his side in the game, with the difference of 6 goals at the break nothing like as wide as it might have been had it not been for him.

The talking point of the game came in the second half when Torrelavega accidentally played with an extra man, and as a result then had to play a period a man down. Barça made the most of the advantage to put then game definitively to bed.

Special mention must go to Hampus Wanne and Aleix Gómez for their contributions in the latter moments of the game as Barça built and built on their lead. And so on to Thursday, Aalborg at home. Promises to be a cracker.
