Barça 5-2 Liceo: Another final!
FC Barcelona are through to the Spanish Super Cup Final against old rivals Reus on Sunday after a handsome 5-2 defeat of Liceo in today's semi-final.
David Cáceres' side enjoyed an early boost when Pablo Álvarez scored in the very first minute, but a red card for Marc Grau complicated matters, especially after César Carballeria equalised with the free.
The remainder of the half was one in which the two goalkeepers excelled above the rest, but just when it looked like the sides would be tied at the break, up popped Sergi Lorca to put the blaugrana back ahead.
Sergi Aragonés then blasted in another to put some light between the teams, and it was lights out when Matias Pascual raised the tally to four. Liceo refused to give in and when they pulled a goal back they still had another 12 minutes to salvage something. And there was always the concern that that might happen, until Pablo Álvarez widened the gao back to three and that was well and truly game over.
So we can now look forward to a final against Reus, the eighth time these two teams have met in the decisive encounter, and on five of those occasions, Barça have come out tops. Let's make it six on Sunday!
It all starts at 11.30am CEST.
