Lamine Yamal, La Liga player of the month for September
Accumulating records and individual awards is now a full time job for Barça forward Lamine Yamal. Last month he was voted best U23 player in La Liga for August and now this month, he has been awarded the overall prize for September for the monthly awards organised by the Spanish Football League.
Still just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal recorded three goals and an assist in September, as the teenager played a vital role in helping Hansi Flick's team to three wins in four matches in La Liga over the four-week period.
The forward scored twice in Barça's 4-1 win away at Girona and also scored later on in the defeat at Osasuna in September's final fixture. Lamine Yamal also provided an assist in the 5-1 win at Villarreal, playing 300 minutes in the league over the month, starting three games and coming off the bench in the other.
Second win in a row for the blaugranes
The same award for August was given to Raphinha last month, as Barça continue to dominate the monthly awards given out by La Liga. Lamine Yamal adds player of the month for September to his U23 award for August and let's not forget that Hansi Flick was also named best coach for August by La Liga.
