No limits for Robert Lewandowski
There is no limit to what Robert Lewandowski can achieve. The Polish striker's goalscoring form in La Liga has crossed over into the Champions League thanks to his brace of goals in the 5-0 win against Young Boys in the Estadi Olímpic on Tuesday. Those two strikes now mean that Lewandowski has the highest ratio of goals per game of all the players who have scored 50 goals or more in Europe's top club competition with an average of 0.79.
Lewandowski now has equalled the record held by Leo Messi, also on 0.79 per game, and is just ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo (0.77), Ruud van Nistelrooy (0.77) and Karim Benzema (0.59).
51 goals since the age of 30
The Barça number is ageing like a fine wine and is now in second place in the goalscoring list for players over 30 years of age in the Champions League. Since entering his fourth decade the Pole has scored 51 goals in the competition and only has Cristiano Ronaldo on 68 ahead.
Seven goals in the league in eight matches and now two in two in the Champions League, Lewandowski is a man in form.
