Marc Casadó: 'The Champions League requires 100%'

Midfielder speaks to the media on the eve of the Champions League meeting with Young Boys of Bern

Marc Casadó is settling into life under Hansi Flick very nicely indeed. The midfielder started the game against Monaco and hopes to do so again against Young Boys on Tuesday. In theory it's a simpler fixture, but the player was quick to point out that "in the Champions League there are no easy opponents."

Raising spirits

The Monaco game didn't go to plan, but Casadó insists that "the team is ready to perform well in front of our fans and raise their hopes."

"But we know that Young Boys have very strong, fast players and they can hurt us on the counter attack."

First senior season

Casadó had played first team football before this season, but this is the first time he has been an established member of the squad. "I'm still adapting" he said. "But I'm trying to do the best I can in every game. The boss has given me confidence and is very clear in his explanation of what he wants from me in every situation. He's a very approachable coach."

He has also found it very easy to settle into life in the squad. The fact that there are so many other youngsters has really helped him in that regard, but he is also benefiting from "playing with world class players and learning from them."
