Bidasoa 30–36 Barça: Win away from home

The blaugranes pick up their second win of the league season against a determined Basque opponent

Two wins out of two for FC Barcelona in the ASOBAL handball league thanks to a 36-30 away win at Bidasoa Irún. Carlos Ortega's team were held a draw last season in the same venue but this time the scoreline left little room for doubt.

Early control

Inside a packed arena, the home side came out strong but Barça managed to weather the early pressure to lead 8-5 with 10 minutes gone. Bidasoa kept themselves in the game but could not avoid the blaugranes taking a 18-15 advantage into the break.

Culer win

Richardson and Cikusa were the key men for Barça in a game that they controlled without ever completely closing the door on Bidasoa in their home arena. In the end the margin of victory was six with Ortega's team taking a 36-30 victory to make two out of two in the league.
