Barça 39-30 Huesca: Winning start

The Palau Blaugrana witnesses a strong opening to the title defence

Barça have powered out of the blocks in the league with a convincing defeat of Bada Huesca at the Palau Blaugrana. The visitors made sure Barça needed to stray sharp, but once Carlos Ortega's side got the engines running, there was never much doubt who was going to emerge victorious.

After a slow start, Barça stormed away, led by the stratospheric Aleix Gómez and his stunning 11 goals.

But this was no one-man show. Especially in the first half the team combined to perfection, and although the second was sometimes a bit of a struggle, the lead was too wide for any major concerns. Bada Huesca did a good job of getting back into the game, but Barça held firm and then put their feet firmly back on the gas for a grandstand finish.
