FC Barcelona launch their second kit for the 2024/25 season
Barça will wear a black jersey for the fourth time in their history as their second kit after doing so before in 2011/12, 2013/14 and 2020/21. On all occasions the success of the kit with the blaugrana fans was extraordinary and in the year of the Club's 125th anniversary black will be the main colour once again on the strip.
The away kit for FC Barcelona in the 2024/25 season is a look into the kits of the future, mixing iconic Barça stripes and a black background, allowing them to shine. One of the key elements is the TPU badge which has a reflective finish on a darkened badge, proudly sitting between blue and maroon outlines.
The history of the black jersey
In 2011/12 Barça wore a black kit for the very first time in their history, albeit as a third strip, and it was very popular amongst the fans. That season Pep Guardiola's team won the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.
Two years later, the team once again wore black as the third kit in a design that featured yellow details, differentiating the kit from the first groundbreaking version.
In the 202/21 season Barça had a black jersey once again. This time the innovation came in the form of a totally black shirt without coloured details.
