Raúl Dacosta joins Barça Atlètic

FC Barcelona reaches agreement with SD Ponferradina for transfer of Galician winger on a two-year deal through to 2026

FC Barcelona and SD Ponferradina have reached an agreement on the transfer of Raúl Dacosta. The forward joins Barça Atlètic on a two-year contract through to 30 June 2026.

The Galician has taken his medical, looked around the FC Barcelona facilities and on Saturday will be reporting to Albert Sánchez for training, although he has yet to officially put pen to paper.

Skill on the wing

Born in Orense on 26 January 2002, Dacosta is a skillful right-footed winger who tends to play on his 'wrong' side, the left, although he is quite happy playing anywhere in the frontline.

From his hometown club he made the move to Celta Vigo and from there to Real Madrid for three years, and then spent his U19 and first senior years at Espanyol, before moving on to SD Ponferradina. He has played for Spain at U16 level.

In his last year at Ponferradina he played 23 games in Primera Federación, scoring 3 goals and giving 6 assists. The year before that he scored 8 goals in 57 games.
