Contract extension for Marc Bernal

FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with the player Marc Bernal to update his contact which will tie him to the Club until 30 June 2026, the end of his eligibility for the U19 squad. The Catalan midfielder renewed his contract when he joined the U19s and now the deal has been extended after a season in which he was involved with the Barça Atlètic squad. Currently the player is training in preseason with Hansi Flick's first team squad. 

The official signing of the contract will come at a future date.

Despite being in his first year with the U19 squad, Bernal became an important part of the Barça Atlétic squad last season. Under Rafa Márquez, the midfielder made 31 appearances for the blaugrana second team, 27 as a starter, scoring twice - both goals coming in a 3-1 win away at Sestao River. 

Bernal came to the Club in 2014 from Gimnàstic Manresa at U8 level and has moved progressively through all the youth categories at La Masia with the young defensive midfielder eventually becoming a key member of the Barça Atlètic team.
