Lamine Yamal, Ferran, Fermín and Pedri Euro 2024 winners
Four more blaugranes are European Champions. Lamine Yamal, Ferran, Fermín López and Pedri were part of the Spain squad who defeated England in the final in Berlin, Germany. Luis de la Fuente's team ran out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyazarbal. Lamine Yamal played 89 minutes of the final, becoming the youngest player ever to play in a major tournament final at the age of 17 years and 1 day, beating a record held by the great Pelé after his appearance in the 1958 World Cup final at the age of 17 years and 249 days.
To cap it all off for the teenager, he was named by UEFA as the 'Best Young Player of the Tournament.'
Lamine Yama, star of the tournament
Spain had the better of the game against England in the final but it was not until the second half that Athletic Club winger Nico William gave them the lead after a pass from Lamine Yamal, the teenager's fourth assist of the tournament, another record for a European Championships.
Cole Palmer managed to level things up for England with just under 20 minutes to go but a later goal from Real Sociedad striker Oyarzabal gave Spain a record fourth win in the tournament.
17 winners for Barça
Lamine Yamal, Ferran, Pedri and Fermín now form part of a list of 17 Barça players who have won the European Championships.
