Chile and Cape Verde get first penyes

Two more supporters clubs have joined the community of what are now 161 official FC Barcelona penyas in the international section. The Penya Barcelonista de Santiago de Chile and Penya Barça Sal Cabo Verde have both been granted official status, both of which are the first club in their respective countries, Chile and Cape Verde.

Both clubs were originally formed by Catalan expatriates, where they have since attracted considerable numbers of local followers too, as well as other foreign residents. The Cape Verde club, as well as serving as a meeting point for Barça fans in the islands, also intends to work hard for the benefit of children in the country.
