Four Spanish blaugrana players in the Euro 24 final

On qualifying with Spain, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Ferran Torres and Fermín join the list of blaugranes to have reached a Euros final, all with Spain

Now the first Euro 24 semi-final has ended, featuring blaugranas with both Spain and France, it's Spain who have booked their place in the final this coming Sunday at 9.00pm CEST at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. This also means that four FC Barcelona players have qualified, with Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Ferran Torres and Fermín still in the hunt for continental glory, while Jules Kounde fell just short.

21 blaugrana finalists, all with Spain

Either England or the Netherlands will be the opponent in the final and last hurdle to becoming European Champions, which is only 90 (or 120) minutes away. The thing is reaching the final of tournament of this magnitude is already a tough task, and to date, only 17 FC Barcelona players have done so, all wearing the colours of Spain.

Spain's first European Championship win with clear blaugrana influence

Of course, there are many other players who have played finals or won European Championships and also played for FC Barcelona, such as Thierry Henry, Lilian Thuram or Deco himself, just to name a few. However, they weren't at the Club when they did it. To find the first who did, we have to go back 60 years to 1964, when five blaugranas won Spain's first ever European Championship - Ferran Olivella, who captained the side, plus Josep Maria Fusté, Salvador Sadurní, Pedro Zaballa and Jesús Pereda, who made it 1-0 in the final, which ended 2-1.

From disappointment in 1984 to the golden generation

Twenty years later in 1984, Spain again reached the final, featuring another four blaugranas - Víctor Muñoz, also captain like Olivella in 1964, 'Lobo' Carrasco, Julio Alberto and Marcos Alonso. That year they lost 2-0 to France. The next time involved the golden generation of Spanish football, who won back-to-back in 2008 and 2012. The first saw Carles Puyol, Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta form the spine of Luís Aragonés' team. Four years later, with Vicente del Bosque now coach, Xavi and Iniesta were there again, Puyol missed out due to injury, but Pedro Rodríguez, Sergio Busquets, Víctor Valdés, Gerard Piqué and Cesc Fábregas were all included, the latter having also won in 2008 when he was an Arsenal player.

Lamine, Pedri, Ferran and Fermín looking to become champions now

That's 17 different names, to which Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Ferran and Fermín can be added, bringing the total to 21. Whether or not they play in the final, all four will also be looking to join that list of winners.
