Chivas Femenil 1-4 FC Barcelona: Victory in Mexico

No goals in first half, but the blaugrana machine starts rolling in the second

FC Barcelona are returning victorious from Mexico after a 4-1 victory over Chivas Femenil in the third game of the Campeonas Tour that began with preseason wins over Club América and Tigres. It means the Catalans collect the tournament trophy.

Barça started with what was practically their first choice XI, but despite dominating possession were unable to score in a first half in which Lucy Bronze's ball onto the post was the closest chance. The main reason for the lack of any goals was the goalkeeping, with Cata Coll also playing her part with a top save on 35 minutes.

Different line-up produces goals

Barça came out for the second half with a totally new set of players, while Chivas also made a number of changes. This seemed to work in Barça's favour, with Ari Arias netting the first goal after 5 minutes of play. Patri then made it two by finishing off some amazing work by Paños, and a Pina humdinger as good as settled the result.

Guzmán pulled a goal back for the home side from the penalty spot before MVP Pina scored her second with practically the last kick of the game.

The players now fly back to Barcelona where they have one last game against Valencia in the Liga F before setting off on their summer holidays.
