Barça 42-26 Cangas: Semi-final here we come
The FC Barcelona handball team have made it into the semi-finals with a 42-26 win over Frigoríficos Morrazo Balonmán Cangas in the Copa del Rey. Carlos Ortega side's win sets up a meeting with Bidasoa Irun on Saturday with eight goals each from Djordje Cikusa and Richardson setting them on the path to victory in the quarter-final.
Close start but then...
The game began with both sides alternating scores and despite three goals from Richardson early on, Cangas were ahead 6-5 after just five minutes. However, the blaugranes soon eased into gear and a spell of seven unanswered goals saw them take a 15-8 lead on 18 minutes. Carlos Ortega's team continued their dominance and at half time they stretched their advantage to 10 goals at 25-15.
With the tie pretty much decided, the second half was a one sided affair with Cangas also having to a worry about a relegation play off next week in the league. Ariño and Langaro added three each for the blaugranes as they ran out easy 42-26 winners in the Copa del Rey clash.
