Lewandowski: Stunning under Flick
Hansi Flick played a huge role in making Robert Lewandowski the player he became and Lewandowski had much to do with building the German coach's reputation. They were together for two amazing seasons at Bayern Munich, and now their paths are set to cross once again at FC Barcelona.
Killer stats
If anyone knows how to get the best out of Lewandowski, the Flick has to be that man. The Pole responded with 83 goals in just 71 games, no fewer than 1.16 per match. It goes without saying that Lewy was the highest goalscorer of Flick's era at the Bavarian giants.
In the 2020/21 season, the Polish striker celebrated 41 goals in 29 appearances, roughly one every hour. That was the most goals that anyone has scored in a single Bundesliga campaign this century.
In total, Lewandowski started 69 of his 71 games under Flick (6157) minutes, making him the fifth most used player by the coach while at Bayern.
