Aitana shows the Ballon d'Or and The Best awards to the Barça Foundation
Unexpected visit to the Barça Foundation Genuine team today. The players had just started training when Aitana Bonmatí appeared. The women's team midfielder and one of the goalscorers in the Champions League final that Barça won on Saturday in Bilbao wanted to show them the two main individual awards she has won in recent months, no less than the Ballon d'Or and The Best awards, which certify her status as the world's best female player.
There were hugs, smiles, kisses and a lot of warmth during the get-together. Aitana has always been particularly compassionate towards people with disabilities and she actually already knew most of the Barça Foundation squad because she was their ambassador last season. The Catalan answered questions and gave advice, always with a smile on her face. “Tough times help you improve and become better. Don't worry about making mistakes - football is a game of mistakes”, she said from inside the circle that had formed around her. "I always want to give my best for the team", she went on to add.
A nice gift
The meeting saw Aitana receive a very special gift - 'Poemes del l'estiu' ('Summer poems'), the book published by Barça Foundation player Adrià Àlvarez a few months ago. She was taken aback and very grateful, and she dedicated her book, 'Tots unidas fem força' ('United we are stronger') to the player. Lastly, she wished the Barça Foundation players the best of luck for this final part of the season, when they will play the 4th and final phase of the LaLiga Genuine and the Dicup tournament.
