Luis Suárez nets 500th club goal
Luis Suárez is a legend at FC Barcelona, where he became the third highest goalscorer in the club's history. Now in Miami, he's still putting them away and has now reached the milestone of 500 goals, not counting those at international level.
198 for Barça
Most of those goals were scored in a Barça jersey, no fewer than 198 from 2014 to 2020, where he formed a lethal partnership alongside Neymar Jr and Leo Messi, the latter of whom is still with him, albeit now at Inter Miami. It was at Liverpool that he scored his second highest tally, 82 goals.
Two time Golden Shoe winner
The breakdown of his goals at Barça was as follows:
Liga: 147
Champions League: 25
Copa del Rey: 19
Club World Cup: 5
Spanish Super Cup: 1
He scored them in 283 games, in which he also gathered 97 assists, for a total of 195 goal participations.
His best season was an amazing 2015/16 when he totalled 53 goals, with the 40 in La Liga earning him the Golden Shoe trophy. That was the second time he scooped the award, having also done so by virtue of the 31 goals that he scored for Liverpool in 2013/14, the year before his move to Catalonia.
