Christensen the goalscorer
A name has been appearing regularly in the goalscoring column for Barça - that of Andreas Christensen. The Danish international has shown that he has a nose for goal in important matches, scoring three times in the Parc des Princes, the Santiago Bernabéu and Montilivi in recent weeks.
Converted into a holding midfielder in the second half of the season by coach Xavi Hernández, Christensen has scored his three goals in the space of less than a month, something the Dane has never achieved before at Barça or at any of his previous clubs.
Two headers and a right foot finish
The versatile former Chelsea man scored his first goal of the season in the 3-2 win away at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, getting the winner with a great header. His second goal came in the Clásico in the Bernabéu to open the scoring, once again with his head. Finally, last Saturday the Dane opened the scoring again in the game against Girona, this time finishing in style with a great volley after controlling the ball on his chest.
The run of goals bring his total in a Barça shirt to four after he scored his first goal for the Club last season in a game against Betis at Spotify Camp Nou, another header to add to his collection.
Christensen may have scored more goals in a month than ever before but he still needs another against Real Sociedad, Almería, Rayo or Sevilla to equal his best ever total for a season which came in 2016/17 when he found the net four time for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
