Five things about Cádiz v Barça

Barça travel to Andalusia on Saturday to take on struggling Cádiz. Mauricio Pellegrino's team are second to bottom in the table with 25 points, three from safety whilst Barça are unbeaten in 12 matches and still have hopes of retaining their league title. 

Poorest attack in the league 

Cádiz have scored just 21 goals this season, fewer than anyone else in La Liga. On Saturday the Andalusians will face a Barça side who have not conceded in their last five matches in La Liga. The arrival of Juanmi in January, however, has boosted Pellegrino's options in attack with the former Betis striker having scored three goals since joining the club. 

Favourable precedents...

The home side have lost their last three games against Barça, failing to find the net and conceding no less than eight times.

Barça have picked up just four points from their last three visits to the Nuevo Mirandilla. A win, a draw and a defeat in that time following a run of seven wins, one defeat and one draw. 

Happy memories on both sides

João Félix enjoys playing against Cádiz as he has scored more goals against them than any other team in Spain. The Portuguese striker has found the net five times against Cádiz, the same number as against Betis and Athletic Club. For the home side striker Maxi Gómez has scored six goals against the blaugranes, more than any other player in La Liga with the exception of Celta striker Iago Aspas who has eight against the blaugranes. 

First game without Lewandowski in 2024

The Polish striker will miss the trip to Cádiz due to suspension, his first absence since the turn of the year. The only other players to have played every game in 2024 are Jules Kounde and Ilkay Gündoğan, ther German having featured in every game this season so far.
