Teruel 2-4 Barça Atlètic: Unbeaten run stretched to nine games

Barça Atlètic have extended their unbeaten run to nine with a convincing win at Teruel to remain among the top sides in their division. Naim Garcia was the star of the show with a brace, while also supplying the assist for Noah Darvich and also playing a part in the goal finished off by Mbacke.

Placid first half

Rafa Márquez's charges immediately made themselves at home at the Estadio de Pinilla with Naim Garcia capping a tremendous solo run with a stupendous finish just five minutes into the game. That was the second goal this season from the Leganés loanee, and the impetus for him to go on and complete his best game yet in a blaugrana jersey.

Then on 24 minutes, two shots in immediate succession almost doubled the lead before Mbacke collected the rebound and it was third time lucky as he drove the ball into the back of the net.

The two standout players were most definitely Naim and Noah Darvich, who teamed up moment before the interval to make it 3-0. Plain sailing thus far.

Job well done

Teruel made several changes and looked a refreshed outfit in the second half, and pulled a goal back through Aitor Pascual, and then his the crossbar as they looked to mount an unlikely comeback.

But just when things were starting to get dicey, a brilliant run from substitute Jaume Cuéllar and a sweet finish from Naim García meant the blaugrana players could relax again.

Facu García did grab a second for the the home side with a powerful strike from outside the area, by by then there was no real doubt where the three points were going.

Nàstic and Deportivo slip up

The Barça reserves gained the additional benefit this weekend of Nàstic only drawing 0-0 with Cornellà and Deportivo only getting one point, salvaged right at the end of their game with Sabadell. Depor still stay top with 52 points, but Barça Atlètic are now matched with Nàstic in second, just one point off the leaders, although Ponferradina could move above them should they win on Sunday.
