Rafa Yuste: 'They'll be two really nice games'
After Friday's draw in Nyon paired FC Barcelona with Paris St Germain, the Catalan club's sporting vice-president Rafa Yuste commented that he expects "two very nice games where our idea is to try to qualify for the semi-finals."
Asked about the opposition's star player Kylian Mbappé, he responded that "we've got Lamine ... But we need to respect every opponent, we have to be very prudent."
Old friend
"They have a coach who we know very well from here" he continued, in reference of course to PSG boss Luis Enrique. And with the return leg being played at Montjuïc, Yuste commented that "we have to put body and soul into this, and we hope the fans will help us to do that." The round of 16 game against Napoli drew the biggest crowd of the season so far.
Avoided foes
Asked about the avoidance of Real Madrid, who will be meeting Manchester City, Yuste reminded us that "we already have one Clásico coming up shortly. As for Manchester City, neither we nor they want to play each other for emotional reasons."
Before the draw was made, he and former Barça man Txiki Begiristian, now among the staff at City, spoke and posed for picture together.
Cubarsí picked for Spain
Yuste also spoke about the first ever international call-up for defender Cubarsí, saying "I am very happy for him. We are projecting 17 and 18 year old talent into the world. Xavi Hernández, José Ramón Alexanco, Joan Soler and many others are to thank for making this possible, if they hadn't been so daring, Cubarsí would not have got the chances he has."
