Champions League game surpasses the El Clásico attendance

This season's highest attendance to date was for the LaLiga Barça v Madrid game on 28 October last year. Some 50,112 fans enjoyed the Rolling Stones El Clásico, despite Xavi's side not coming away with a win. That was the only game to surpass the 50,000 attendance mark this season at Montjuïc, but the European clash against Napoli extended that total. Other good turnouts at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys this season came in LaLiga against Villarreal and Betis, with attendances of 46,229 and 45,055 respectively.

The top 5 attendances this season are rounded out by what was previously the highest attendance in European competition this season when Porto visited Barcelona. The blaugranes needed to win to ensure they went through to the last 16 of the Champions League. That evening 43,533 fans were on Montjuïc to celebrate Barça's return to the knockout stages of Europe's premier club competition.
