Barça 4-2 Senergy Renovables Sant Just: Victorious return

After 3 weeks without a game at home, Edu Castro's team seal an excellent return with a valuable win ahead of the Cup

After a three week absence form the Palau Blaugrana, the FC Barcelona roller hockey team made a triumphant return with a 4-2 win over Senergy Renovables Sant Just. The game also served as a moment to celebrate the recent Intercontinental Cup success in Argentina for Edu Castro's team. Their opponents did not make it an easy night for them, however, with the blaugranes having to work hard to pick up the win and extend their unbeaten run in the league to 54 matches.

Even start

The team form Sant Just came to spring a surprise on a Barça side who were without the ill Sergi Panadero, the injured Matias Pascual and the suspended Pau Bargalló. Nevertheless, the blaugranes were in front after just four minutes, João Rodrigues giving them the lead. Two minutes on and Edu Castro's side were two up, Ignacio Alabart this time the scorer.

However, San Just fought back commendably. Cristian Rodríguez then Gerard Miquel finding the net to make it 2-2 before the quarter of an hour mark. It needed a goal from Alabart in the 23rd minute to give Barça the lead at half time.

Resistance broken

Barça did not relinquish their lead in the second half with João Rodrigues adding a fourth on 42 minutes to claim an excellent win ahead of next week's Cup fixtures.
