Barça Academy Aichi to open in Japan

Latest soccer school means FC Barcelona will have six in the Asian country following those in Fukuoka, Katsushika, Nara, Yokohama and Hiroshima

Following the opening of Barça Academy Aichi, Japan now has six Barça Academies, placing it second in the world after the United States, which has seven. This continues the expansion of the Barça Academy name in a country of major strategic importance for the club and where football is now one of the most popular sports among the population.

This academy serves the region of Aichi which includes the city of Nagoya, which is home to 2.3 million people and will be based at three different sites (Seto, Toyokawa y Nisshin). The school is set to open its doors in April of this year.

Strong blaugrana presence

Thanks to the Barça Academy programme there are now more than 1,5000 boys and girls learning to play football the Barça way in Japan every year. The club also holds around 30 soccer camps all around the country each year, which involves a further 1,000 other children getting to perfect their football skills and knowledge.
