At the weekend Barça scored their 11,000th goal in their history - how did they get there?

FC Barcelona scored their 11,000th goal in their history in Saturday's excellent 4-0 win over Getafe at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Frenkie de Jong's third goal of the brought up the landmark figure before Fermín López added goal number 11,001. 

From the Club's 1000th goal to its 11,000th, some famous names have scored some famous goals.

Samitier, the first 

Josep Samitier, a Barça legend, scored goal 1,000 for the Club on 31 January 1926 in a victory over Europa in the Catalan Championship, some 10 years after the club's first goal scored by Girvan against Hispania. 

Escolà makes it 2,000

Once again in the Catalan championship, Josep Escolà scored goal number 2,000 in an 11-0 win over Júpiter in October 1935 - the striker scoring a remarkable seven in the memorable win for Franz Platko's team. 

Marcos Aurelio comes next 

The Argentinian striker Marcos Aurelio reached the landmark figure of 3,000 in October 1949 with a strike against Valladolid. 

Eulogio Martínez makes it 4,000 

Paraguayan striker Eulogio Martínez is one of the most well remembered by Barça fans from the 1950s. He was top scorer for the blaugranes in three seasons and his goal in September 1959 in a 6-0 win over Osasuna brought the total to 4,000 for the blaugranes. 

Rexach in 1970 

In December 1970 a young Carles Rexach scored goal number 5,000 for Barça with an effort against Málaga that gave Vic Buckingham's team a 1-0 win in Andalusia. 

Periko Alonso makes it 6,000 

The midfielder had a three year spell with the blaugranes in which he scored goal 6,000 in a 3-0 win over Athletic Club in April 1983. 

Eusebio against Oviedo 

Eusebio, part of the legendary 'Dream Team', made a bit of history in March 1993 when scored goal 7,000 in a 2-0 win over Oviedo in March 1993 that helped Barça on their way to the league title. 

Overmars scores number 8,000

The Dutch winger signed from Arsenal and in his first season, in May 2001, Overmars scored in a 5-1 win over Rayo Vallecano to bring up number 8,000. 

Messi, 9,000 and 10,000

If any could appear in this list twice, it is Leo Messi. In March 2010 the Argentine made it 9,000 with a goal in the Champions League against German club Stuttgart.

Six years later in February 2016, once again in the Champions League only this time against Arsenal, Messi scored a penalty to bring the total a round 10,000.
