Lewandowski: 50 goals in almost record time
The Polish striker reaches the landmark figure in 79 matches - only Samuel Eto'o and Luis Suárez have done it quicker
Robert Lewandowski's two goals in Balaídos on Saturday not only catapulted Barça to victory against Celta but also allowed the Polish striker to reach a total of 50 goals for the blaugranes in double quick time.
Only Samuel Eto'o and Luis Suárez this century have reached 50 goals quicker than Lewandowski. The two legendary strikers notched up a half century in just 68 matches - Lewandowski's 79 matches makes him third on the list, ahead of third placed Ronaldinho (108) and fourth placed Leo Messi (117).
With 50 goals now to his name Lewandowski moves past David Villa, who needed 120 games to get his own 48 and Thierry Henry, a player who scored 49 times for the Catalans in 121 games.
