Barça Women to face Athletic Club in the Copa de la Reina

Barça Women will face Athletic Club de Bilbao in the semi-finals of the Copa de la Reina. The first leg is on Thursday 7 March at 9pm CET in Lezama, and the second leg will be on Thursday 14 March, also at 9pm CET, at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. 

The Basque club coached by David Aznar needed penalties to get past Costa Adeje Tenerife following a 1-1 draw in normal time in the quarter finals. Jonatan Giráldez's team had a much smoother passage with a 8-0 win over Sevilla CF. 

The final will be played on 18 May at a venue still to be decided. 

Rematch of semis from 2018

The last time the two sides met at the this stage of the competition was back in 2018 in a one legged tie played in Reus, Catalonia. After a 2-2 draw after extra time, goalkeeper Sandra Paños was the hero of the hour as the blaugranes prevailed 4-3 in the penalty shoot out to book their place in the final.
