Record breaking XI against Betis

Lamine Yamal (16 years and 192 days) and Pau Cubarsí (16 anys and 364 days), form part of the first line-up with two U17s in league history

The first piece of news of at the Benito Villamarín for the game against Betis came with the line up as coach Xavi Hernández included 16 year olds Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí in the starting XI. It was the first time in history (with the exception of when a players' strike in week 2 of the 1984/85 season obliged clubs to field youth players) that a team had sent out two players of that age in the starting line up in La Liga and it was also the youngest line up of the season for Barça with an average age of 24 years and 170 days.

Another record for Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal is now stranger to records after becoming the youngest ever player in the league, Champions League for Barça and also the youngest this century in the Spanish Super Cup and the youngest ever Spain international and goalscorer.
