FC Barcelona win fourth Women's Super Cup

Victory over Levante means a third title in a row

Barça have won the Spanish Super Cup for the fourth time, and the third in a row, being the only team in both old format (1997-2000) and the new one (2020-2024) to win the title more than once.

Today they defeated Levante in the final, collecting another trophy to add to the ones lifted in 2020, 2022 and 2023.

First in 2020

They won the first after beating league champions Atlético Madrid 3-2 in the semi-finals, and then smashed Real Sociedad by a staggering 10-1 in the final.

Only defeat in 2021

The only time in the last five years that Barça got beaten was in 2021, when they lost on penalties to eventual winners Atlético Madrid in the semi-final..

First of three in a row in 2022

In Jonatan Giráldez's first season as head coach, double winning Barça won the Clásico with Real Madrid 1-0 in the semi-final and thanks to an injury time goal from Alèxia Putellas.

In the final against Atlético Madrid there was only one team in it. 7-0 it ended, and that was more silverware for the collection.

Second treble in 2023

Barça were again the defending double champions the following year, and once again saw off Real Madrid in the semis. The goals were scored by Claudia PinaMariona Caldentey and Salma Paralluelo although on this occasion extra time was needed before the win was secure.

They again met Real Sociedad in the final, this time winning by a more 'respectable' scoreline of 3-0 with two goals from Aitana Bonmatí and one from Asisat Oshoala.

2024, huge Clásico win and history repeats at Butarque

This latest edition brought a Clásico in the semis, with Barça storming to a 4-0 win, the 13th in as many games against Real Madrid.

And then came the final against Levante, who Barça had already beaten 4-2 in the final of the Copa de la Reina. This time things were even more spectacular, as the Barça women ran out 7-0 winners with an extraordnary hat trick from Caroline Graham Hansen.
