The Barça basketball side picked up a win in the Euroleague with a 85-80 win over Zalgiris in Kaunas, Lithuania. The game was decided in the final minutes after a high scoring first half and a defensively solid second from both teams.
The win gets the blaugranes back on track in Europe and is their 11th of the Euroleague campaign with Laprovittola scoring 18 points and Vesely getting 15.
Attacking first half
In the Zalgirio Arena there was a free scoring display of basketball for the fans to enjoy with over 100 points scored. Barça's Kalinic stood out after nailing four of five three pointers for 12 points to help the blagranes to a 26-20 lead after 10 minutes.
Birutis scored 13 points before the break to haul the Lithuanians back into contention with Zalgiris then going on to take a 37-30 lead. However, Roger Grimau's team rallied and a 26-14 point spell with Laprovittola key led them to a 56-51 lead at half time.
Barça close out win
Zalgiris came out fighting in the second half and surged back in front at 67-62. The lead was cut by Barça to three points by the end of the third quarter at 73-70, leaving the game in the balance with a quarter to go.
The final quarter was a tight affair with both side taking the lead. Barça edged ahead at 81-80 in the final minutes and then Satoransky from the free throw line sealed an 85-80 win in the Euroleague for a much needed boost for the blaugranes.
