Barça 82-62 Baskonia: Great home win to end 2023 on a good note
A win at the Palau Blaugrana to end 2023. Barça come through after a slow scoring start to comfortably beat Baskonia. Roger Grimau's played well in defence and attack to react the right way to the previous two defeats.
Slow start to scoring
The blaugranes found scoring tough at the start, allowing Baskonia to take a 3-11 lead, which had more to do with inaccurate shooting than defensive attitude. However, they managed to claw it back to 11-12 via free throws and a good spell by Jokubaitis.
FC Barcelona kept up the intensity until the lead was +10, based on concentration at the back and three-pointers by Parker, Brizuela and Satoransky. Moneke shortened the gap, but the lead was still +4 at the break (37-33), when the Palau Blaugrana court filled with soft toys in a charity initiative.
Cohesion extends the lead to seal the win
After the restart, Barça made the most of Baskonia being somewhat in disarray. Scoring 13 without reply saw the lead extend to 15 points, with Willy Hernangómez shining for the blaugranes.
A superb final quarter saw the final game of 2023 in the Palau end in a win. Roger Grimau's side went +30 as the team showed cohesion, with Laprovittola, Jokubaitis and Parker scoring four three-pointers. Barça ultimately won 82-62 to put the past two defeats behind them and end 2023 on a good note.
