Barça came out strongly and scored in just 40 seconds against Cikusa. Pérez de Vargas stood tall in goal and made five saves in five minutes. The Valencians, however, showed bravery and the score remained close after 10 minutes (6-5).

The visitor's resistance lasted a further five minutes, but then Carlos Ortega's side stepped up the pace to go four goals up (10-6, min. 16). Puerto Sagunto couldn't stop Barça and were losing the ball, and ended up going in 12 goals down at the break, Blaz Janc top scoring in the half.

Same again after the break

Toni Malla's side clawed back two goals after the restart, but the blaugranes continued to dominate, with Emil Nielsen also omnipresent in goal.

Barça again stepped up the pace to increase the lead, winger Oriol Zarzuela scoring five goals with great accuracy to aid the cause. Ultimately Carlos Ortega's side cruised to a comfortable win to celebrate a good first half of the season with 17 goals the difference.
