Girona 0-4 Barça: Another win to round off the year in the league

The final league test of 2023 has seen Barça ease past Girona with a 4-0 away win to end the year with 34 of a possible 36 points in the OK league. 

Edu Castro's team had an early chance to take the lead but João Rodrigues was unable to convert the penalty. Nevertheless, on 9 minutes Pau Bargalló scored from a direct free hit to beat Girona keeper Llaverola. Barça keeper Carles Grau then made a vital save to deny the visitors before Xavi Barroso added a second before half time for the blaugranes. 

Captain is back 

Barça went into the break 2-0 up and with captain Sergi Panadero back after a five game absence due to injury. Ignacio Alabart added a third for Edu Castro's team as they moved towards an 11th win in 12 games this season in the league. 

João Rodrigues added a fourth with just minutes remaining to end the year on a high in the league. Next up for Barça is a Champions League trip to Forte dei Marmi on Thursday.
