U17 World Cup winner Noah Darvich back with Barça Atlètic

The midfielder proudly brought his winner's medal with him to training on Thursday

U17 World Cup winner with Germany, Noah Darvich, was back with his club team-mates from Barça Atlètic this Thursday, bringing along the medal he won as his side emerged victorious in Indonesia, beating France on penalties in the final.

Darvich was captain of the German team, and told the club media today that "it's something very special and I'm very proud. It's an incredible feeling. Captaining Germany is very special, and I enjoyed it a lot and every game went well.”

The quarter final with Spain, which the Germans won 1-0, was a particularly special one for him. "That was incredible, it was spectacular to play against my colleagues, Cubarsí, Pau Prim, Héctor Fort, etc... it was very nice.”

Darvich, who joined Barça from SC Freiburg last summer, started every game his team played in the competition, scoring two goals, including one in the final against France, the country where his father was born. He also provided four assists and received one MVP award.

“Winning this tournament has boosted my confidence and now I want to continue developing as a footballer and adapting to the Barça style" he said. "I want to continue learning and enjoying every training session and game to continue growing."
