João Cancelo approaching Porto 'like a final'
Barça defender João Cancelo spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday's Champions League game with Porto, describing it as "very important. We have to win to qualify. But Porto are in good form and shape. We'll need to be aggressive and to attack their weak sports."
"It's good to have players like Frenkie de Jong back and things are feeling good. We clearly need to play better, but football gives you a chance to move forward every three days. I certainly wouldn't say that we lack a winning mentality."
Contribution
"I started off really well and I wouldn't say that I'm now in poor form. It clearly isn't my best moment, but it is more important to think about the team than individuals."
Grateful to Xavi and Pep
"All coaches interpret things differently. Pep Guardiola made be a better player. And Xavi is a great coach and this has given me the chance to live in a wonderful city and play for a great club. I always wanted to play for Barça and I want to enjoy it while I can."
Connection with Lamine Yamal
"He's an incredible player. At his age I was still playing youth football. I try to talk to him to help with things. And on the pitch, I try to pass to him in one-on-one situations, which I think is his strong point."
Faith in João Félix
"Forwards need to score goals. But he has a very good attitude and contributes a lot to the team. If he can score tomorrow I think it would be a good thing for us all."
Benfica-Porto rivalry
"My Portuguese team is Benfica and that does motivate me a bit, but I'm not really thinking about the game in those terms. I play for Barça and am only here to defend the club's interests."
The media
"We don't let it affect us much. This is a young team and perhaps some are affected more than others. But we know we're Barça and we need to know how to deal with all that pressure."
