FC Barcelona loan watch

A look at how Eric Garcia, Pablo Torre, Ansu Fati, Julian Araujo, Sergiño Dest and Clément Lenglet are all getting on at their respective clubs

A number of FC Barcelona players are out on loan across the major European leagues, namely Eric Garcia, Pablo Torre, Ansu Fati, Julian Araujo, Sergiño Dest and Clément Lenglet. The pause in the domestic league schedule for the international break is a good moment to take stock of how the blaugranes are getting on at their respective clubs after the first few months.

Eric Garcia: dependable at the heart of the defence

Eric Garcia has earned a starting place at Girona, becoming one of the leaders in their backline as they continue to rack up great results. The Catalan has started eight out of 10 games and mostly played the full 90 minutes in each one. He also scored his first goal in the win against Villarreal.

Pablo Torre: looking to nail down a spot

On the other hand, Pablo Torre is not featuring as regularly as his teammate. Also on loan at Girona, the midfielder hasn't seen as much action despite coach Míchel singing his praises on several occasions. This season's Liga surprise package stick to a fairly settled line up, meaning Pablo Torre is yet to nail down his spot, playing 125 minutes across eight games.

Ansu Fati: effort and hard work paying off

Ansu Fati is adapting well to English football. Playing in both the Premier League and the Europa League, the forward is putting in the effort to feature for Brighton, and he has already scored four goals for the Seagulls despite still only starting five out of 13 games.

Julian Araujo: many minutes for the right back

Julian Araujo is making the most of his opportunities at Las Palmas. The Mexican has done well since arriving in the Canary Islands, becoming one of the first choices at right back for coach García Pimienta. Despite a setback due to injury last month, he has played 676 minutes this season.

Sergiño Dest: playing well for PSV

Sergiño Dest is having a good loan spell at PSV. The US fullback has played almost every minute he can, racking up 1075 so far, starting every game in the Dutch Erediviese and the Champions League. Dest is also showing his adaptability by playing at both right and left fullback.

Clément Lenglet: few chances to feature

Clément Lenglet has started four games for English side Aston Villa, but they have all come in the Conference League. The central defender is yet to play in the Premier League this season.
