Marc-André Ter Stegen and Aitana Bonmatí receive the Barça Players Award
On Friday, November 10, the Joan Gamper Sports City hosted the presentation of the 2022-23 Barça Players Award to Marc-André Ter Stegen and Aitana Bonmatí. The president of the Players' Association, Juan M. Asensi, and Rafael Yuste, vice president of FC Barcelona, presided over the event in which they highlighted the values such as humility and leadership of all the winners. Values rooted in the philosophy of the Club that both the one born in Sant Pere de Ribes and the German export to the whole world. The event was also attended by Antonio Olmo, director of the Association, Miquel Camps, director of FC Barcelona and Carme Nieto, pioneer of the FCB Female Team.
In the case of Aitana Bonmatí, this becomes her third consecutive Barça Players Award. Something that no other player had previously achieved. After a great year sportingly, with the achievement of the second Champions League in the history of the Club, the League and a historic World Cup where she was chosen as the best player of the tournament, she has been recognized with the Ballon d'Or. At the gala , the Ribetana midfielder appealed for dedication, sacrifice and, above all, surrounding herself with her usual friends and family to help keep her feet on the ground.
In the case of Marc-André Ter Stegen, this is his second Barça Players Award. His leadership in the locker room guides the path of the new promises that arrive at the first team. The German is, along with Sergi Roberto, the last remaining outfield player from the team that won the Champions League 8 years ago. Since his arrival in Barcelona that season, he has perfectly settled into Catalan customs and culture and has become one of the idols of the culé team.
