Deserved Ballon d’Or award for Aitana Bonmatí

Little more than a week ago, Aitana Bonmatí was named as the Ballon d'Or for 2023. After picking up the award the Barça midfielder returned home via Switzerland where she was on duty with the national side.  One back on Catalan soil, Aitana was greeted in her home town of Sant Pere de Ribes with a freshly created mural in the town commissioned by FC Barcelona to celebrate her achievement and by fans and neighbours. Later in the week the Ballon d'Or winner appeared at the Barça Store in the centre of Barcelona and then also presented her award to the fans ahead of Barça Women's game against Sevilla last Sunday.

As well as the presentation of the award against Alavés on Sunday, there will be another chance to present the prize at the Barça Immersive Tour.
