Barça 98-59 Bayern: The party goes on
Barça are in cruise mode in Europe and have no intention of easing off. After three wins on the road they have now added a home win to their perfect start to the regular season.
Leading all the way
Vesely was outstanding and with such support as Satoransky and Laprovittola, they immediately outpowered Bayern early on to set up a 27-11 lead. From then they never really had to look back.
Jabari Parker came on to stupendous effect and his brilliant all-round display would ultimately earn an ovation from the Palau. Bayern did improve, but only to the extent that Barça maintained rather than extended their lead and following the interval there was another blaugrana eruption. The likes of Raphinha, Alexia Putellas and Jana Fernández in the stands were being treated to a very special performance.
The win was already decided and the final minutes were more about rotating the bench to let everyone get some playing time. Nnaji with a dramtic alley-oop and Brizuela firing from distances were the icing on the cake as Barça prepared in ideal fashion for their next European date, a trip to the Wizink Center to face Real Madrid on Thursday, with league game against Bilbao Basket in between.
