Barça 38-30 GOG: Outright leaders

Dika Mem excels as the Catalans see off the Danes to maintain their 100 per cent record

FC Barcelona have beaten GOG of Denmark in what was very much a game of two halves. The first saw some wonderful defending, but it was the attack that was most in tune. After the break, the visitors cut down the difference but an inspired Dika Mem made sure of the fourth win in as many games in the Champions League.

GOG's highly attack-minded tactics may have been to blame for their early struggles, with Barça making them pay for such ambition. Barça scored five times into an empty net to build up a massive early lead of 15-5, with an extraordinary 11 different players scoring at least once in the first half alone. Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas' 50% save rate helped a lot too.

The Danes had little hope of getting back into this game, but with their tactics very much changed, they started cutting away at the difference to get to within just four.

Perhaps complacency was partly to blame, for Barça then got their ideas back together and instead of the gap continuing to narrow, it started opening up again and any doubt that this wasn't going to be a Barça win were quickly laid to rest.
