Barça 91-87 Morabanc Andorra: Battling win

The blaugranes rectify a tough start to come through to win against the Andorrans

The smiles could finally appear at the end for Barça after this battling win against a tough Morabanc Andorra side (91-87). Roger Grimau's men had to dig deep in the second half of the game after a difficult start.

Difficult first half

Both sides found it hard to score initially. but Morabanc Andorra managed to get into their groove earlier, taking an early +5 lead, which they extended to +8 by the end of the first quarter. The mountain got even tougher to climb early in the second as the lead was soon +11. Roger Grimau's side were having to dig deep to stay in the game, while the Andorrans were winning the rebounds and proving effective from the 6.75 metre line. Satoransky and Jokubaitis helped to keep the score down to 37-47 at the break.

Mountain climbed

Barça were a different proposition after half-time, playing faster, cutting into the lead until they were only four points down. The game was now a more even affair, with Willy Hernangómez helping to gradually redress the difference on the scoreboard, along with Laprovittola. The lead was finally achieved after 31 minutes, 59-58, with all to play for in the final quarter.

Morabanc Andorra didn't give up and the score remained close throughout the latter stages of the contest. The blaugranes all chipped in to score and Jokubaitis made the lead +2 with just four minutes to go. The game was very much in the balance, though, and then two three-pointers by Abrines and Vesely opened up the biggest lead for the home side so far. Both sides scored further three-pointers, but the game decanted in the blaugranes' favour, final score 91-87 and a second win of the week at the Palau Blaugrana.
