João Félix says this is 'probably the toughest group game'

It's been a good start for João Félix at Barça. He has scored three goals in his first games as a blaugrana and the number 14 looks set to be involved in a very special at the Do Dragao on Wednesday. He will face Porto, having spent time in the youth team there, prior to also visiting there in the shirt of their great rivals Benfica.

He will be wearing the Barça jersey this time on Wednesday in the Champions League, with both teams having won their first group stage game. “It is just another game. It may be special because it is a Portuguese side and more family and friends will be in the stands, but this is just another game that we aim to win”, he stated during the pre-match press conference.

Regarding the Champions League itself, he adopted a cautious tone, stating “we want to take the Champions League step by step. Our aim is to get through the group and this is probably the toughest game of the group stage”.

When asked about potentially being rotated, João Félix acknowledged that he would accept it well. "I am a squad member and whatever the boss decides will be fine", he explained. He also acknowledged that he has integrated into the squad very quickly, but that the challenge is to maintain that level throughout the season.

Praise for Frenkie and Lewandowski

João Félix also had praise for two players in the blaugrana squad. The first was the currently injured Frenkie de Jong. “I think he is the player who has surprised me most. I knew about him, but you see his game differently in person, as well as how he thinks about the game and how he sees the space”, he analysed.

He was also asked about Robert Lewandowski, with whom he has linked up well more than once this season, affirming that "he is an incredible striker". Let's hope they can do their thing again at Do Dragao.
