Second best run under Xavi

The amazing comeback against Celta makes it six wins in a row for FC Barcelona

Barça just can't stop winning. Not even when they're 2-0 down with just nine minutes of regular time to go. That's six straight competitive victories now, which equates to the second best streak since Xavi Hernández has been manager, bettering the five of September 2022 and April 2023, and now just two short of the run of eight in January and February 2023.

September joy

Since a draw with Getafe on the opening day, Barça have beaten all of Cádiz, Villarreal, Osasuna, Betis and Celta in La liga, with a Champions League victory over Antwerp to boot.

And in those games they have scored 17 times and conceded just six. In half of them, Marc André Ter Stegen has gone home with yet more clean sheets in the bag.

Eyeing eight

The longest run of eight wins under Xavi consisted of the Spanish Super Cup win against Real Madrid, Copa del Rey victories over Ceuta and Real Sociedad, and Liga defeats of Getafe, Gerona, Betis, Sevilla and Villarreal.

In fact, that run could really be viewed as nine wins, as it came on the back of the Super Cup semi-final against Betis, which ended 2-2 but the Catalans still took it on penalties.
