João Félix off to a flying start
Betis and now Royal Antwerp have both been on the end of 5-0 thrashings by a Barça side that's certainly feeling nicely settled into life at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. And on the subject of settling in nicely, João Félix has taken no time at all to find some of the best football of his whole career at his new club.
Three goals and an assist
The Portuguese forward has started just two games since arriving on loan from Atlético Madrid on the final day of the transfer market. And after scoring against Betis, he then netted two more times against the Belgians, and served up an assist to boot. With three goals and an assist, he is the most productive player of the last decade in terms of goal involvement in his first two games for the Catalan side.
Fine starts
Antoine Griezmann scored twice and gave one assist in his first two games in blaugrana in 2019. And that same season, Carles Pérez did it the other way round, with two assists and one goal. And in 2021/22, Aubameyang scored a hat-trick away to Valencia in just his second game for the team.
But all three of those great accomplishments have now been blown away by a João Félix who has taken no time at all to start delivering the goods for FC Barcelona.
