Barça 2-1 Reus: Hard fought win to get to the final

The blaugranes take the first clash of the season with their biggest rivals to earn a place in the final of the Catalan League

Barça had to work very hard indeed to claim a 2-1 victory over Reus Deportiu in the semi final of the Catalan League. Goals from Marc Grau and João Rodrigues gave the blaugranes the right to fight for their first piece of silverware of the season in the final.

Marc Grau opens the scoring

The game was played at a high pace right from the off. Reus tried to stifle Barça and managed to do so for the majority of the first period, Opposing keeper Ballart made several important saves but could do nothing to prevent Marc Grau from putting Barça 1-0 up in the final minute of the opening half.

Second half joy

In the opening minute of the second half João Rodrigues finished off a pass from Pau Bargalló to make it 2-0 to the blaugranes. Nevertheless, the side from Reus got themselves back into the game with a goal from Maxi Oruste just minutes later.

Barça came close to adding a third but the two strikes either side of half time in the end were enough to book a place in Sunday's final at 7.15pm CEST.
