Robert Lewandowski redeemed at El Sadar

Trips to Pamplona to face Osasuna are typically difficult affairs, but Barça have won the last two, albeit not without plenty of trouble and tension along the way.

From Robert Lewandowski's point of view, the two visits to El Sadar told particularly contrasting stories. Last night it was a foul on him that earned the penalty that he himself converted to win the match 2-1.

That meant a kind of redemption for the Pole in his 50th appearance for the team. That's because in the same fixture last November, Lewandowski was only on the pitch for half an hour before he was red carded for a second bookable offence. It was only the third time in his career that he had been given his marching orders, and the only time in a Barça shirt.

Barça fought back despite being a man down and went on to win the game thanks to goals scored by Pedri and Raphinha. But they had to do it without the services of top striker Lewandowski. Almost a year later and the same man ended up being the hero of another win at one of the hardest away venues in Spanish football.
