UEFA Youth League opponents confirmed as FC Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp
The Under-18 A side now know who they will face in this year's UEFA Youth League. The draw by UEFA in Monaco today decided both the youth team's opponents and the first team's group in the UEFA Champions League, as FC Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp were drawn in Group H with Barça.
Let's not forget that Barça finished Spanish champions last season and automatically went into pot 1, but they also couldn't face any other team from LaLiga during the group stage.
The Youth League will have the same format as in recent seasons. On the one hand it initially mimics the Champions League, with 32 teams in eight groups of four. However, the European youth competition will simultaneously have a phase with 32 teams representing the national champions from countries with the best coefficient whose first teams aren't playing in this season's Champions League.
The eight group champions go straight through to the round of 16, while the second placed teams will go into a round of 32 play off against the teams that came through the national champions section. The following rounds are a single legs until the last four remain, with the Final Four phase played at one venue from 19 to 22 April 2024.
Here are the groups in full:
Group A: Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Copenhagen, Galatasaray
